May Mission of the Month

Lutherans Volunteer Corps (LVC)

Building Community, Living Simply and Sustainably, Working for Justice. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Welcome!

Mission: The Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a community of faith uniting people to work for peace with justice.

Values: As the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, our values are:

Simple and sustainable living in an intentional community.

Exploring spirituality

Inclusive community

Social justice

Mission and Values in Action: LVC places recent college graduates (“Volunteers”) in full-time service positions at social-justice organizations across the United States for one or two years. LVC places emphasis on the injustice of racism, oppression, and privilege in its leadership development curriculum; and Volunteers develop broad leadership skills while being placed with food justice, legal aid, environment, housing, immigration, education, health care, and other missions.

If you would like to contribute a financial gift to Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC), please note "May Mission of the Month" or "LVC" on your special offering.

In peace, Libby Larson, on behalf of the Church in Society Committee
