Special Worship Services
Lenten Worship Services will continue in April on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. We will be using the Holden Evening Prayer liturgy. A soup supper will be offered at 5:45 p.m. Confirmation students will be having supper at 5:00 p.m.
Maundy Thursday, (Holy Thursday) Service. Our first communion students for this year are invited to make this holy day a special celebration as they take the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time.
Good Friday Service at Bethlehem will be observed with the traditional service of Tenebrae at 3:30 p.m.
Community Cross Walk on Good Friday at 6:00 p.m. will follow the traditional route through town. Join us on this holy week tradition. The Community Good Friday service will be held at Cornerstone Community Church at 7:00 p.m.. The Rev. Mary Ellen Ashcroft will be preaching.
Easter Festival Services will be offered at 6:30 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. There will be an Easter Breakfast offered as a fundraiser for youth ministry programming from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Baccalaureate Service This is a worship service to bless our graduating seniors and is provided by the Ministerium of Cook County.
Lessons and Carols 2012 December (date TBD)
This awe inspiring service is a favorite of our holiday traditions. Based on the service of Lessons and Carols developed and made famous by King’s College Cambridge, England this service leads us through salvation history with Carols, Anthems and Scripture readings.
Christmas Eve Services 2012 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Both worship services for Christmas Eve are candlelight services. At 5:00 p.m. we hold a service of Lessons and Carols with all our choirs. It is a truly inspiring hour. At 10:00 p.m. we gather for a quieter more intimate service of Carols and Communion. It is a wonderful way to bring a benediction to your Christmas Eve.
